I write about tech, as a contributor for the Discovery Channel, Forbes and USA Today.
Currently based in Silicon Valley, I'm a writer lost in a programmer's town, more attuned to the syntax of English than Ruby, Java or C++. Prior to living here, I reported in Chicago, Washington D.C., New York City and most recently, Hong Kong where I (left my heart and) worked as a staff reporter for the Wall Street Journal. I've written about a number of subjects, including consumer technology, real estate, politics, personal finance and on a few occasions sinking ships.
I graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University earning two degrees: a master’s in business reporting and interactive storytelling, and a bachelor’s in print and online reporting and political science.

Likes: audio, photography, storage, iPhone gear. Meh: video games, tablets, computers. An overview of what I write:
For Discovery Channel, my daily work runs the gamut from quick hits to in-depth reviews.
At Forbes, I write Plug and Play, which includes tech news and gadget reviews (eg. battle of the rapper headphones).
My weekly column for USA Today highlights five pieces of tech grouped under a theme (e.g., tools for productivity).
